Community Invite!

Attend a community meeting to learn more about the Oddie Boulevard/Wells Avenue project on Thursday, Jan. 23, 5:30-7 p.m., at Washoe County Senior Center. A presentation will begin at 6 p.m. The project will revitalize the corridor by creating a more-livable, safer and vibrant community on Wells Avenue, from I-80 ramps in Reno and continuing on Oddie Boulevard to Pyramid Way in Sparks. The RTC will present the community with the most-current design plans.

 

The Washoe County Senior Center is accessible to individuals with disabilities. Requests for auxiliary aids to assist individuals with disabilities should be made with as much advance notice as possible. Project Description

The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC) Oddie Boulevard/Wells Avenue Multi-Modal Improvements Project begins on Wells Ave. at 9th Street in Reno and extends to Oddie Boulevard at Pyramid Way in Sparks. The corridor is approximately 3.2 miles long. Improvements include roadway reconfiguration, upgraded utilities and signalization, bicycle facilities, sidewalks, landscaping and improved safety and accessibility for pedestrians. The project team is currently developing the project elements and locations.

Timeline

The project is currently in preliminary design with final design anticipated in early 2020. After final design is complete, the project will progress to the construction phase. The earliest construction is anticipated to begin is summer 2020. The RTC will host community meetings prior to final design to listen to the community’s ideas, concerns and input. Meeting details will be noted on this website and notifications will be distributed in the stakeholder update.
